The van, the walls, the welcome
Sophie runs everything that moves: the Art Moves touring van, the seasonal walls exhibitions, and the weekly workshop calendar. A trained textile artist, she still teaches the embroidery circle every month — her sampler wall at the Guild Hall is legendary.
She built the guild’s open-call system from scratch: no CVs, no gatekeeping, just work that carries a tradition forward. Forty emerging artists have shown on our walls through it.

A school residency finale where a shy eight-year-old led the whole chorus. The van was the right idea.
